Barre, Centre, and Across the Floor activities are designed to help the student begin the discipline needed to study classical ballet. (60 minutes – once a week) Saturday 10 AM Ages: 1st- 2nd grades Class Attire: Light pink ballet shoes, light blue leotard, light pink tights Ballet 3 First formal 90-minute class focusing on Classical Ballet Technique – A structured class involving developmentally appropriate Barre, Centre, and Across the Floor exercises. Ballet body positions, terminology, musical terminology, theory of dance, creativity, positive self-image, adagio and allegro movements & many other age-appropriate activities are planned. (90 minutes) Tuesday 4:30-6:00 PM, Ages 3rd-4th grade Class Attire: Light pink ballet shoes, lavender leotard, light pink tights Ballet 4 Formal 90-minute class focusing on Classical Ballet Technique – A structured class involving Barre, Centre, and Across the Floor exercises. Beginning development of a serious attitude for the discipline of ballet is also a focus. *Eleven-year-old students are introduced to pointe shoes only if approved by teachers. (90 minutes – twice a week) Monday and Wednesday 4:30-6:00 PM, Ages 5th-6th grades Class Attire: Light pink ballet shoes, mulberry leotard, light pink tights Ballet 5 Formal 90-minute class focusing on Classical Ballet Technique – A structured class involving Barre, Centre, and Across the Floor exercises. Continuing development of a serious attitude for the discipline of ballet is also a focus. Introduction to advanced concepts and beginner to intermediate pointe work. (90 minutes – twice a week) Monday and Wednesday 6-7:30 PM, Ages 7th-8th grades Class Attire: Light pink ballet shoes, royal blue leotard, light pink tights Ballet 6 Technique and Pointe. Highest level of ballet training offered – An extension and progression of the classical ballet technique promoted in the Ballet 4 class – Designed to be more stimulating and challenging to ensure technical and artistic development in an age-appropriate environment. (90 minutes – twice a week) Tuesday 6-7:30 PM and Thursday 4:30-6 PM, Ages 7th-12th grade Class Attire: Light pink ballet shoes, purple leotard, light pink tights Adult Ballet Adult Ballet class for levels beginner to advanced. She has been featured in the UNO productions of “True Confessions of a Go Go Girl” and “As You Like It.” Ms. Wardsworth’s training includes scholarship awards with the Boston Ballet School, School of American Ballet, Joffrey Ballet School, Universal Ballet Academy, and the Bolshoi Academy at Vail. Her professional experience includes the esteemed companies Ballet Met, New York Theatre Ballet, Ballet USA, Louisiana Dance Theatre, Zhoux Zhoux Dance Theatre, Delta Festival Ballet, New Orleans Ballet Ensemble, and Ballet Hysell. Ms. Wardsworth received instruction in teaching dance from Dena Moss of the Joffrey Ballet School, and later taught at New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, New Orleans Dance Academy, Fellom Ballet, Tangipahoa Parish Schools, Jefferson Parish Schools, and numerous dance schools from New York to Louisiana.
